Back WAY back when Nash and I were dating and in love and wanting to stay together instead of someone going home we had a saying.....

We are NOT in season.....or It's not the Season.....and it always ended in a YET :)

Well for the last 9 yrs 2 months (and still going) we have been in the Season of having BABIES of growing a family. Its been WONDERFUL full of surprises and trials and giggles and learning and craziness.

We've also been in the Season of figuring out what's best for US for our Marriage. Which has included some big life changes....buying our first home, being laid off from 2 jobs, having financial problems, selling our home, Moving 2 hours from family into much different circumstances....going back to school....ect! We have been busy!!!

As the Season's go by I am realizing how bittersweet all of it has been....I wish I had been more in the moment, taken more mental pictures of how things are or how babies smelt. I also wish I had taken more "me" time. And I've realized that now since we are getting beyond the tiny baby stage it is okay and good for me to re prioritize.

I am the MOM and that ROCKS but golly gee I have been put on the back burner by ME.....So I am taking back some time of each day for just me :) and I have decided that YES it is okay to spend 20 bucks on a hair cut if it makes me feel better and YES it is okay to buy a new pair of pants and YES it is okay to do what I NEED. This is the Season to be good to myself and in return I BET I'll be a better mommy and wife. I am also starting to exercise and we BOUGHT a TREADMILL to help me :) (Nash gets to use it too) I am all signed up to run a 10K on JUNE 12th and I'm nervous and excited! This will be a HUGE jump out of my comfort zone :)

Anyways I'm glad for all the different SEASONS of our lives cause each one is special and exciting and new....and I'm thankful for all the past SEASONs because they add perspective to our todays..................

I'll post pictures of my TREADMILL and awesome new HAIR CUT tomorrow :)

Isn't it strange that as mothers we put ourselves last, and most of the time that ends up meaning not at all? I feel the same way as you. When I actually take the time for 'me' it seems to make a difference to our family! Good luck on the 10k! That sounds exciting!
