Our Growing Family

Today I had the opportunity to go do a presentation on Breastfeeding for some local highschool aged first time moms. I had a really good time doing it and I've been pondering the reasons why I chose to breastfeeed and how La Leche League has influenced my life. I love being a leader and a member of a organization that changes women's lives in great ways.

I've been asked several times recently why I still go to LLL meetings.... I have several answers :) I was a young bride and I've been blessed to be a young mom. At the time of my first pregnancy I was young, scared, intimidated by all the wise older women around me and I was having to make big decisions. At my first LLL meeting the Leader recognized me and treated me as a equal, as a smart woman, and from that first meeting I was hooked.

I go to meetings to learn from and observe how other mom's work their magic. And their magic rubs off on me and I become a better mother. I have learned so much from all the women I've meet through the years.

I would not be the mom I am today without LLL and all the knowledge I have been encouraged to gain.
